"Hospitality Executive Gets Trump Nod To Lead National Parks"

"Scott Socha is a leader at Delaware North, a company that has held contracts at the National Park Service."

"President Donald Trump has nominated a hotel and food management executive to be director of the National Park Service.

Scott Socha is the president of parks and resorts and Australia at Delaware North, a food, venue and hotel management company that has held large contracts with the National Park Service. He will have to be vetted and confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

Socha has been with Delaware North for 27 years. He previously led the company’s financial planning and risk management and was the company’s vice president of business development. Socha oversaw contracts with Yellowstone National Park, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and Niagara Falls State Park, according to his profile on LinkedIn.

The nod to Socha would put a business executive over the sprawling agency, which has seen significant staff contraction under the Trump administration. During his first term, Trump did not have a confirmed NPS director."
