Getty Images announces $85,000 in grants supporting photojournalism and inclusive storytelling which shines a light on the important issues of our time. Deadlines vary from May 14-20, 2021.

Calling all creative writers whose muse is ecology: Contests in Poetry, Nonfiction and Fiction are now open for submissions. This year the grand prize in each genre is $1,000 each, plus $100 for each finalist. Open to new and experienced authors and artists alike. The cost to submit is $20. Deadline is September 6.

The annual Covering Climate Now Journalism Awards will honor excellent reporting on critical dimensions of the climate story. Open to journalists worldwide, on any beat. No entry fee. Deadline: Mar 31, 2025.

NWF's contest celebrates the power of photography to advance conservation and connect both photographers and viewers with wildlife and the outdoors. Open to amateur and professional photographers. Cash prizes in multiple categories including one for youth aged 13-17. Deadline: Apr 6, 2025.

The 2025 festival is scheduled for Sep 19-25 in Perm, Russia. Documentary filmmakers worldwide may submit new full- or short-length films released after Jan 1, 2024. Entries must reflect the style of documentarian Robert Flaherty and his film "Nanook of the North." Cash prizes. Deadline: May 10.

The National Press Club is offering five scholarships in 2025 for students pursuing journalism, high school to graduate studies, three supporting diversity in the field. Deadline: Mar 16.

Planet Forward's Storyfest recognizes and rewards the best and most compelling student-told stories illuminating environmental issues and solutions. Winners travel to a TBA destination to see and report on the environment. Submissions due Feb 23, 2026.

MY EQUATOR Charity Social Support Fund's annual wildlife photo contest is open to photographers worldwide. Cash prizes in each adult category and for photographer of the year. Winners in the young categories receive a glass trophy, a diploma and more. Enter by Mar 31, 2025.

The Pulitzer Prizes, established in 1917, are awarded annually in journalism, books and other categories. Deadline: Aug 8, 2025 for books published in the first half of 2025; final deadline Oct 15, 2025 for books. Jan 28, 2025 for journalism.
