Applications are open for NLGJA's CONNECT: Student Journalism Training Project. CONNECT places selected participants at NLGJA's National Convention in San Francisco this September, with travel, lodging and registration fully covered. It's a remarkable hands-on opportunity, and it's open to all students regardless of LGBTQ+ identification or NLGJA membership.

This award recognizes reporters who make complex science-related topics digestible for the public. This work is crucial in building trust to support informed healthcare decision-making. Journalists who work in print, video, digital, or broadcast media are eligible. Entries will be accepted through Friday, April 10, 2026, at 5 p.m. ET.

This opportunity supports students in an Islamic Scholarship Fund-supported field who will be pursuing their studies as full-time students during the 2026–2027 academic year. The scholarship mobilizes financial resources for students who demonstrate strong leadership potential, excellent communication skills, alignment with ISF’s mission and vision and a commitment to impacting public opinion. Deadline: Mar 21, 2026.

The 2026 Poynter Journalism Prizes will honor the extraordinary journalism produced in 2025, with categories that take into account the important stories that unfolded in that time. All news websites, news services (including radio, TV stations and magazines) and newspapers in the United States are eligible to enter. Deadline: Feb 13, 2026. 

A global changemaker challenge focused on the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals. Teens who enter can win up to $1,000 and be connected with a professional journalist, via Planet Forward, as well as an amazing global network of teens working to make the world a better place! Deadline: Jan 25, 2026.

With this project Journalismfund wants to stimulate in-depth science journalism in Dutch-language media in Belgium. The next application deadline is Jan 22 2026, 1 PM CET.

The Pascal Decroos Fund is Journalismfund Europe's oldest grant programme. Since 1999 it strives to advance investigative journalism in Dutch-language media in Belgium. Next deadline: Jan 22 2026, 13:00 CET.
